Computer Journaling

For journaling using a computer, any standard word processor will do. Just keep one file going, called "2008 journal" or something like that. Start a new entry with something to separate it from from the previous one. e.g.:

The point of using a computer isn't so much for formatting. Instead, what matters most are the words and sentiments. Using a computer improves speed (depending on typing ability), provides spell checking, makes it easy to make changes, and is really useful for emailing your writing to a friend (or posting it on Holonation, see below).
Back in May, I posted a Recipe called Expiation Through Writing . Expiatory writing is to journaling what a flash thunderstorm is to a steady drizzling rain. The basic idea of both, however, is the same: to bring balance to our minds and hearts.
When I've done that sort of heart-clearing writing, I just whip open the first word processor I click on, and get right away to typing. For me, that has meant Microsoft Word in the past.
But as I hint in my Testimony Expiatory Writing Example: Failed IVF that accompanied the above Recipe, I plan on using a Holonation testimony for my next expiatory writing. Don't know when that occasion will arise -- hopefully not any time soon! :)
As a last reminder for soulflower but also for all users, your identity is private on Holonation. So if you choose to journal or expiate on Holonation, everyone can read your words, but nobody will know who you are -- unless you tell them in your writing.
And if users start using Holonation for journaling or expiatory writing, I'll add some kind of a "download" feature so you can collect your writing into a word processing document on your computer. The only reason I haven't added that sort of feature yet is that there hasn't been a demand.
Excellent info. This weekend I'm going to a workshop and I'll be journaling like crazy via computer. I love writing via computer because I am a really fast typist and the stuff that pours out of my brain I can keep up with when I type. Yeah I think expiratory writing on holonation is awesome!!!! That's where I'm going to put all of my expirations from here on in.
