How-to: Dancing to 50s, 60s and 70s music

Posted March 7, 2007, by drLove

Do you want a quick pick me up to shift your mood from glum to rockin'?

Ingredients:

  • music that you love (I just happen to love the oldies)
  • CD player
  • CD disc
  • sound belt to strap around your waist and put your CD in
  • computer
  • knowledge of how to burn your favorites onto a CD
  • alternative: a radio station that plays back to back songs without commercials
  • optional: headphones
  • room to move

Steps:

  1. Put on your favorite CD or your favorite radio station.
  2. Use headphones if your family is adverse to the music you love.
  3. Crank up the tunes (but be careful, not to do it too loud as it may damage your ear drums).
  4. Start shaking your booty.
  5. Especially if you're home alone, - LET IT RIP!!!! No one's watching.  Get down baby!!!
  6. Do this for the shere pleasure of doing it.  Or do it while washing dishes and cleaning your home.
  7. Encourage others to join in.

Msuic and dance -- brilliant! I would have given this 5 stars if it wasn't limited to 50s-60s-70s music. I see both music and dance as powerful forms of emotional communication. This communication is not limited to genre or time period. But combining the two is brilliant. Nice recipe.
