How-to: "Supremely Sumptuous Sandwich" Made With Brewers Yeast

Posted February 20, 2008, by soulflower

I definitely agree, Brewer's Yeast is great and how wonderful that it's packed with so many healthy benefits! I just had to share a recipe for my favorite sandwich made with Brewer's Yeast. I have decided to call it "The Triple S" (supremely sumptuous sandwich) in honor of haiku's recipe.

Ingredients:

Extra firm tofu, soy sauce or Bragg's (I prefer Bragg's Liquid Aminos), clove of garlic, sliced onion, olive oil, favorite sandwich bread and favorite sandwich fixings (I recommend  cilantro and sunflower sprouts too!) and  organic skim mozorella (optional of coarse!)

Steps:

Cut a healthy sized slice of tofu (about the thickness of whichever bread you are using). Coat the tofu slice with olive oil and fry on low heat until crispy golden brown on both sides. Mince garlic clove and  sprinkle over tofu, being sure not to burn the garlic. Turn off heat and add about 2 tablespoons of braggs and  then coat with a liberal amount of Brewer's yeast on both sides. Remove  tofu from pan and sautee onions in pan, return tofu to pan. Cut a thick slice of mozorella and allow to melt  over tofu and sauteed onions. Remove tofu from pan and put it on your favorite bread with all of your favorite sandwich fixings and perhaps  just a bit of safflower mayo. Enjoy..yummm
