Wisdom of the Crowds

I believe that in life, we can learn lots from each other. We can learn from people who are younger, people who are older, people who have more formal education than we do, people who have less formal eduction, people who have experienced intense losses and people who have experienced phenomenal gains.
I believe that we can learn from everyone in order to help us transform our own lives for the better. Some people we learn lots from, and others, a minimal amount depending upon what it is that we want to learn.
Wisdom of the crowds for me, is a collective wisdom that is generated by a group of people. This wisdom comes from thoughts, ideas, beliefs and actions that are given lots of energy and passion and deemed to be useful by the entire community of people.
While there is no doubt that transforming our lives can occur by drawing on the wisdom of others, at the end of the day, no matter what a group collectively thinks or believes is helpful and useful, I myself, with my own innate wisdom (a wisdom that exists within each and everyone of us), will decide if an idea/belief/action is useful for me or not. I will decide upon the usefulness of an idea regardless of whether the wisdom of the crowds deem it to be so.
In essence, we are a collective whole. At the end of the day, we are separate individuals and what we bring to the table of life is highly unique for each of us. 6 billion people on earth with 6 billion different experiences, yet we are part of each other travelling this journey we call life.
Well said. I look forward to the day when this site has so many workers that the collective wisdom can percolate up from us. Who knows what it will say? Who knows whether it will jive what we believe?
